Expertise: My current research interests focus on economic growth, the influence of judicial systems on economic performance and the role of institutions in fostering development. My past production also includes studies on privatization, regulatory reform, finance and trade.
Professional/ Work Experience: In addition to being a researcher at IPEA, I teach at the Federal University in Rio de Janeiro. From 1995 to 2002, I worked as the chief economist of Brazil's National Development Bank (BNDES).
Affiliation: I am a member of the Economics Commission of the Brazilian Federation of Banks, the Advisory Council of the Brazilian Chamber of Arbitragem, the Editorial Board of Pesquisa e Planejamento Economico, and a regular contributor to the business newspaper Valor.
