The Management Development Institute (MDI) was established in 1982 as a body corporate to trainGambian citizens to develop managerial skills in planning and implementation of development programmes, and to promote the development of administrative effectiveness and enhance professional competence in management. MDI carries out this mandate through six core programme areas:
general management
economic management
private sector development
financial management & accounting
information technology & computer studies
research & consultancy.
The institute also has a library and offers documentation services to its staff, students, researchers and members of the public at large. The website provides detailed information on the courses/workshops and other activities provided by the institute as well as information on the facilities available on the MDI complex.
