IBC is dedicated to the
conservation, sustainable use, access and benefit sharing of Ethiopia's
biodiversity. Established in 1976, it has accomplished significant
number of programmes and projects in biodiversity conservation.
International conventions, agreements and treaties relevant to
Biodiversity Conservation have been ratified and adopted. Strategy and
policy documents have been published on Ethiopia's Biodiversity and
distributed to relevant stakeholders.
IBC consists of several departments which include:

Ethnobiology department
Forage and Pasture genetic resources department
