The Institut Supérieur de Formation et de Recherche Appliquée/Higher Institute of Training and Applied Research (ISFRA) created in March 1981 is the new formula for the Superior Teaching Center (SPC). This institution was established in partnership with UNESCO in 1970. It was at the time dedicated to the training of higher education lecturers. From 1996 with the establishment of the University of Bamako, ISFRA became a university institute a university for the training of lecturers and postgraduate scientific research
IFRA’s main missions are:
Development and training of lecturers and researchers in specialties needed for normal functioning of higher education institutions and research centers of Mali
Delivery in areas that are clean of any studies or scientific research and technology
Collection, preservation and dissemination of information on scientific and technical research
Protection of scientific heritage within its jurisdiction
Four research teams have been established within the ISFRA on the following topics:

Environment
Education Sciences
Nutrition and Food Technology
